Nars Fall / Holiday 2012 collection includes an amazing collection inspired by Andy Warhol and a collection full of colour. The collection is made up of 9 products.
- Nars Multiple in Undress Me.
- Duo Eyeshadow in Vent Glace.
- Trio Eyeshadow in High Society.
- Nail Polish in Storm Bird.
- Blusher in Outlaw.
- Lip Pencil in More.
- Sheer Lipstick in Autumn Leaves.
- Matte Lipstick in Amsterdam.
- Lipgloss in Rouge Tribal.
The collection is made up of autumn tones of greens and reds to reflect upon the seasonal surroundings.
The collection was modelled by Kristen Mcmenamy. Mcmenamy has worked with Francois Nars for many years now and has been featured within the book 'X-Ray' by Francois Nars. Her features are quite unique and bold which creates the perfect canvas to play around with the limits of this collection. Mcmenamy also worked with Nars in the Summer of 2012 to unveil a new liquid eyeliner pen. The model has the perfect complexion and skin tone to use a wide range of colours against. Her features are very structured which is a great aspect when trying to sell eye liner which structures the eye.

Once again, Nars advertising campaign is minimal so not to distract from the makeup. There is definitely a chic sense to the brand which reflects in the products and packaging used.
As well as the colour collection released, Nars also produced another colour collection inspired by Andy Warhol. The Andy Warhol collection features loads of diverse products. Warhol was the main figure in pop art so this inspiration and colour palette has been transferred across into eyeshadows, lipglosses and nail varnishes galore!

I love how the flower eyeshadow palette has not been made up of the bright colours in the original painting, but has been toned down to colours that are better suited to the purpose. The eyeshadows themselves are highly pigmented and so easy to blend. The creativity of this product is so unique and inspiring. The eyeshadows are so versatile and the colours can be mixed and used to create different hues. The Andy Warhol collection is definitely one of my favourite collections that Nars has ever created, by bringing both art and colour into makeup in a useful and usable way.

As well as the flower eyeshadow palettes, Nars also produced three versions of Andy Warhol's 'Self Portrait'.

The eyeshadow compacts all include individual quote on the mirror inside. The use of the portrait is so creative. When you open the eyeshadow it's almost like you never want to use them. The collection is definitely for collection purposes I believe. I have the silver and black portrait eyeshadow. I touched the eyeshadow and the picture started to come away so in order to keep the portrait in tact I will not use the product as intended.

The collection also included limited edition gift sets with around three miniature products inspired by all of the collection, including the pop art colours, silver factory collection and the embossed eyeshadows. I have the gift set, 'Walk on the wild side' which features Illuminator in 'Silver Factory', Lipgloss in 'Orgasm' and Nail Varnish in 'It'. The illuminator is perfect to highlight or to use mixed in with a foundation to create a glow. The lipgloss in best selling shade 'Orgasm' gives a nice natural tint to the lips which is a surprising colour to use in the Andy Warhol collection. I though the lipgloss would have been a more vivid colour. The nail varnish is a ultra-violet shade with metallic tones to it, which matches the packaging for the gift set.

The packaging for the limited edition 'Walk on the Wild Side' gift set, mirrors the 'Flowers' painting but incorporates a metallic edge to it. Nars have succeeded on the packaging as the whole thing is very eye catching and intriguing. Overall, the whole collection is one of the best Nars has ever produced. The products within the collection range from a variety of shades to diverse products that can be used in multiple ways. The collection is definitely one to keep as a collectors item inspired by the wonderful Andy Warhol.
